Frequently Asked Questions
We understand you want the best flags, as quick and stress free as possible. Our mission is to supply the quality you deserve at low costs! Here are some commonly asked questions to help you order and make decisions!
I haven't bought a mic flag before / I haven't purchased from you! How do I place an order?
Once you decide you’re ready to order, you can proceed to our Shop Mic Flags page. Select the style that you’d like to proceed with, select frame color, upload your artwork, add to your cart and proceed to checkout!
Once you complete the checkout process, you will get an email confirming your order with a digital proof for your approval. This email will come from orders@onairmicflags.com. We will not proceed with any order until we receive a response to this email approving the proof. This is also a time for you to request any changes to your order!
Typical production time is about 7-10 business days from artwork approval. The website will generate an expected ship date next to each shipping option, with costs, at checkout.
You may see tracking information once your order is placed, but this does not mean your item has shipped. We generate a packing slip at the time the order is processed and the mic flags will be shipped around the date given by the website at checkout. Please note the package will require a signature for delivery.
If the event date is sooner than the dates given on the website, please email info@onairmicflags.com for rush availability prior to placing your order!
I'd like to see my logo on a flag before I make a purchase, can I do that?
Absolutely! Send an email to info@onairmicflags.com with your artwork and style of mic flag and you’ll receive a digital mockup of what your logo would look like typically within a business day.
Decide you like it? Upload the proof as your logo file when placing your order and we can take it from there!
Do you ship to Canada? Do you ship internationally?
Yes! Our website will allow our international customers to check out directly through the website. Please note all amounts are in USD.
We will provide a USMCA (if applicable) and commercial invoice. Any taxes, duties, fees etc. would be handled and paid by the recipient of the package. The shipping charges generated by the website are solely for shipping and does not include any customs charges. Please note the package will require a signature for delivery.
What kind of artwork do I upload?
Don’t get hung up on setting up your file, we can handle almost any type of file. The sizes listed are the sizes of the panels themselves. For example, the 2.50 x 2.50 cube mic flag has four 2.50” square panels. If the artwork you upload will not print well, we’ll let you know.
The files for best printing are vector files, typically .EPS, .AI or .PDF. We can accept JPGs & PNGs, but are unable to make modifications to those. For more specific information, please check out our Art Specs.
If a specific color is required, please provide PMS colors in the notes and we will get as close as possible. HEX and RGB Colors are specifically for screen and are not an appropriate reference for print.
What size frame should I choose?
We get questions about frame size a lot. The sizes listed are the sizes of the panels themselves. For example, the 2.50 x 2.50 cube mic flag has four 2.50” square panels.
We usually recommend a size based on what your logo looks like. If your logo is more rectangular, our 3.50 x 2.00 triangle, or 3.00 x 2.00 rectangle flag works best. If it is long, our 4.75 x 1.50 triangle flag works best, and if it is square, we recommend our cube flags.
Our standard mic flags are made to fit almost every handheld microphone. The SM300 is designed specifically to the the Shure SM7B & other similar studio microphones.
Will your mic flags fit my microphone?
Our flags fit all standard handheld microphone diameters. We’ve tested our mic flags on some of the most popular handheld microphones out there and we’ve failed to find one that doesn’t fit! They have a foam insert on the inside that is shipped with a 0.625″ hole that fits tightly around your pinky finger. The foam can be slit to expand to the width of the mic pretty generously. The maximum diameter is listed on each style on their respective product pages on our Shop Mic Flags page. The SM300 is designed specifically to the the Shure SM7B & other similar studio microphones.
Below is a video showing how to cut the foam to allow for a larger base on our standard styles.
If you will be using multiple microphones in the same flag we typically recommend Rycote Mic Flags. These flags have interior removable rubber veins that allow larger mics to go through easier. These flags also are made to hold up better to the wear and tear of microphone.
Below is a video showing how to use the Rycote style frames.
Have a unique microphone other than a standard handheld? Email us at info@onairmicflags.com with the diameter of the base of your microphone, and we can tell you which frame would fit!
